The 2025 UCPA Board Elections are here, and members will have the opportunity to elect leaders for the positions of President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Only active UCPA members are eligible to vote, so make sure your membership is current to have your voice counted. These roles are critical in shaping the vision and direction of our association, guiding our advocacy, legislative efforts, and professional resources. Your participation matters—by voting, you help ensure that UCPA remains strong, united, and led by individuals dedicated to advancing chiropractic in Utah.

The Role Of The UCPA President

Responsibilities of the UCPA President

 
The President of the Utah Chiropractic Physicians Association serves as the chief executive officer of the association, responsible for implementing fiscal matters, carrying out board directives, and overseeing the overall work of the organization. The President provides leadership by supervising committees (other than the nomination committee), guiding board activities, and ensuring the association’s agenda moves forward. This role also includes presiding over all board and executive committee meetings, collaborating with the board to appoint committees, and representing UCPA as the primary spokesperson. Additionally, the President must approve and publish meeting agendas and minutes at least 24 hours in advance and sign official documents as required by the bylaws.

2025-2027 Term

Dr. Spencer Erickson

Dr. Spencer Ericksons Bio

BIO

Dr. Spencer Erickson was born in Murray, Utah, and raised in Springville, Utah. He attended Springville High School and then Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho, for one year before serving a two-year full-time mission in the California San Bernardino Mission. While serving in Barstow, California, he had his first experience with chiropractic care at a small clinic—an experience that inspired his calling to become a chiropractor.

Upon returning home, he attended Utah Valley State College for one year, then spent three years at the University of Utah before moving to Portland, Oregon, to attend Western States Chiropractic College in 2000. He graduated in 2003 and began his chiropractic journey shortly thereafter.

Over the years, Dr. Erickson has gained experience in a variety of practice settings, including shared-space arrangements, associateships, house-call practice, and partnerships. For the past 13 years, he has been running his current office, Timpview Chiropractic, where he has built a thriving family practice in Orem. He has worked alongside many excellent chiropractors and has trained in NAET, Chiropractic Biophysics (CBP), pediatric and prenatal care programs, and is Webster certified.

Dr. Erickson has come to deeply appreciate the lasting value of the chiropractic adjustment and proudly identifies as a subluxation-based chiropractor. He has also contributed to the profession through service in the Utah Chiropractic Physicians Association (UCPA), first as a district leader in 2014–15, later as an at-large board member in 2021–22, and as Treasurer from 2022–23. He is committed to protecting the chiropractic profession in Utah and advocating for patients’ rights to choose their preferred health care.

Since 2023, Dr. Erickson has served as President of the UCPA. He considers it an honor to serve alongside the executive board, working to advance the profession. In addition to speaking at the Spring Conference, he was invited to represent chiropractic at a Utah Opioid Task Force meeting in late 2024. His current efforts include supporting Equal Pay legislation and strengthening chiropractic’s voice with state lawmakers by actively participating in political events and building relationships with public officials.

Candidate Statement

It has been such a privilege to serve as the President of the UCPA for the past two years. With my family’s blessing, I am excited to run again for President. I feel both passion and gratitude for our profession. Chiropractic has given me so much, and I am hopeful to serve again in this capacity. I look forward to our continuing legislative efforts, as well as bringing chiropractic more and more into the public eye. We have excellent momentum right now thanks to all of you. Dr. Adam Vance, D.C.

Dr. Adam Vance earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Logan College of Chiropractic in 1998. He is licensed as a Chiropractic Physician in Utah (since 2000) and in Idaho (since 1999).

As the owner of Vance Chiropractic, Dr. Vance is dedicated to excellence in both his professional practice and personal life. He is deeply committed to the highest standards of patient care, always prioritizing the well-being, informed choice, and long-term health of those he serves. Known for his thoughtful, evidence-informed approach,

Dr. Vance is a respected voice in the Utah chiropractic community. Within the Utah Chiropractic Physicians Association, he currently serves as an At-Large Member of the Board and has formerly served as Secretary of the Executive Board and as a District Leader. In these roles, he has contributed not only his clinical expertise but also his insight into regulatory, ethical, and professional issues that shape the future of chiropractic care in Utah. He is passionate about mentorship, continuing education, and community engagement, and works actively to support the next generation of chiropractic physicians.

Outside of practice, Dr. Vance enjoys spending time with his family and can often be found on the ski slopes or enjoying time on the water. His balance of professional dedication and personal fulfillment reflects the values he brings to both his patients and his colleagues.

I am honored to be considered for a position on the UCPA Executive Board. For more than two decades, I have dedicated my career to serving patients and advancing our profession with energy, integrity, and vision. Through my years as a practicing chiropractor, clinic owner, and active member of the UCPA, I have seen firsthand the impact that strong leadership can have on our profession and the communities we serve.

I currently serve as an At-Large Member of the UCPA Board and have previously served as Secretary of the Executive Board and as a District Leader. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing chiropractic in Utah. I am committed to advocating for high standards of patient care, supporting the next generation of chiropractic physicians, and strengthening the voice of our profession at every level.

Serving on the Utah Chiropractic Physicians Association (UCPA) Board presents a unique opportunity to promote the highest standards of ethics, care, and advocacy for chiropractic physicians across Utah. The board’s purpose—protecting and representing practitioners, advancing education, and enhancing legislative standing—is deeply aligned with my own commitment to empowering peers and elevating patient care. I am motivated by the association’s mission to support every doctor, regardless of philosophy or technique, and to proactively advocate for both practitioners’ rights and patients’ welfare.

My goal as a board member would be to contribute thoughtful leadership on regulatory and public affairs initiatives, ensuring that the profession continues to thrive, is well respected, and remains unified. I am enthusiastic to support continuing education and professional development opportunities, helping to equip chiropractors across Utah with world-class knowledge and skills. I hope to provide direct value through collaborative outreach, fostering relationships with the powers that be and the healthcare community. I hope to be involved in public awareness programs, help to protect and enhance our scope of practice, strengthen our collective voice, and advance the reputation of chiropractic care in Utah.

Dr. Jason Atkinson
Life Long Wellness
Kaysville, Utah

Dr. Atkinson graduated from Parker College of Chiropractic, now Parker University in 1999. He was heavily involved in student government and worked directly with Dr. Jim and Dr. Karl Parker. He received the ACA Outstanding Senior Award at graduation and was employed at Addison Health Systems developing protocols and procedures for their E.H.R. systems.  After graduation, he immediately opened a private practice in Kaysville. He holds a bachelor degree in Human Anatomy and completed a 2-year fellowship in Medical Acupuncture. He is an adjunct faculty member at Parker University and regularly hosts interns in the Community- Based Internship Program. He is heavily involved in fitness and outdoor activities. He is a member of the ACA  and the UCPA. He has 2 sons who graduated from Parker University and work in his family practice and another son attending Acupuncture School in Colorado.

The Secretary manages UCPA’s official records and ensures communication is smooth and timely. They hold the corporate seal, keep minutes, and distribute them to the board. They are also responsible for notifying board members of deadlines and timelines for key tasks.

Dr. Kali Krivinchuk

Dr. Kali Krivinchuk's Bio

BIO 
Dr. Kali Krivinchuk earned her Doctorate in Chiropractic from Northwestern Health Sciences University in Minnesota in 2021, where she also completed a sports emphasis with internship. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
As the owner of Willow Creek Chiropractic, Dr. Kali is dedicated to helping individuals achieve optimal health through chiropractic care. Her practice is built on the foundation of correcting subluxations to restore proper nerve function and empower the body’s natural ability to heal and perform at its best. She and her team are committed to creating value for patients, their community, and one another.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Kali has served the chiropractic profession through leadership and service. She completed a term as Secretary on the Utah Chiropractic Physicians Association (UCPA) Board and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Chiro Heroes, a nonprofit organization that provides healing and support for the survivors of human trafficking, so they thrive physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
Originally from northern Wisconsin, Dr. Kali has called Utah home since 2021. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and takes full advantage of the state’s year-round outdoor activities.

I am honored to be considered for the opportunity to continue serving on the Utah Chiropractic Physicians Association (UCPA) Board. Having previously served as Secretary, I have seen firsthand the value of collaboration, advocacy, and professional unity within our chiropractic community. This role has further strengthened my skills in organization, service, and community engagement—skills that help strengthen our profession locally. That experience deepened my passion for advancing our profession and inspired me to remain actively involved in shaping its future here in Utah.
As a newer doctor, I am passionate about ensuring our profession not only grows but also adapts to the changing needs of patients and communities. I want to help strengthen the foundation of chiropractic while encouraging innovation and collaboration so our profession can continue to thrive and serve the greater good.

Dr. Eric Lee

BIO

Dr. Eric Charles Lee is a board-certified chiropractor who currently practices at Summit Brain, Spine, and Orthopedics, where he collaborates with neurosurgeons and other specialists in managing complex spine cases. After graduating from Parker University, he also completed a fellowship in Spinal Biomechanics and Trauma. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Lee is an Adjunct Faculty Member at Parker University and Cleveland University–Kansas City, where he teaches in a master’s program focused on interprofessional spine management. His career has been dedicated to advancing patient care through evidence-based spine management, education, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Dr. Lee has also lectured nationally to physicians, chiropractors, physical therapists, and legal professionals on spinal ligament injury, root cause analysis, and multidisciplinary treatment models.

Candidate Statement

I am honored to submit my candidacy for the Utah Chiropractic Association Board. My professional journey has been guided by a passion for advancing the role of chiropractors within multidisciplinary spine care and ensuring that our profession remains at the forefront of patient-centered, evidence-based practice.

In my current role at Summit Brain, Spine, and Orthopedics, I work daily alongside neurosurgeons, physical therapists, and pain management physicians to provide comprehensive care for patients with complex spine conditions. These experiences have reinforced for me the vital importance of chiropractic integration in modern healthcare. At the same time, my teaching positions at Parker University and Cleveland University allow me to mentor the next generation of chiropractors and emphasize the critical role our profession plays in interprofessional collaboration.

If elected, I hope to bring this dual perspective—both as a clinician in a neurosurgical setting and as an educator shaping future chiropractors—to strengthen the association’s mission. My priorities would include promoting high standards of clinical excellence, expanding opportunities for interprofessional collaboration, and advancing public awareness of the essential role chiropractic plays in spine health and injury management.

I believe that together, we can elevate chiropractic in Utah, advocate effectively for our patients and providers, and ensure the long-term growth and recognition of our profession.

The Treasurer manages UCPA’s finances and ensures the Association remains financially strong and compliant. They safeguard the accounts, report on the financial condition of the UCPA, and oversee timely filings with state and federal agencies. They also guide budgeting efforts and provide clear financial updates to the Board and membership.

Dr. James King

Dr. James King's Bio

Dr. King has been practicing chiropractic care in Utah County for 27 years and has been actively involved in protecting and advancing the rights of chiropractic physicians in Utah for more than three decades. With over 34 years of political involvement, he has developed strong relationships with state and local government officials and has been a consistent advocate behind the scenes to preserve and strengthen chiropractic practice rights.

He has previously served as Vice President of the Chiropractic Association and played a key role in auditing the State Department of Professional Licensing exam. Looking ahead, he is committed to helping secure equal reimbursement from insurance companies, protecting and expanding chiropractic licensure, and training the next generation of chiropractic physicians to build successful, profitable practices.

Outside of his professional and advocacy work, Dr. King has been married since 1991 and is the proud father of five children and grandfather to three (soon to be four). He enjoys boating, working on cars, and spending quality time with his family.
