Happy New Year, Utah Chiropractors! I hope your holiday season was fulfilling and abundant.
I wanted to write a quick note about the coming year of 2025 and wish you all a fantastic start to the year. The word that has been on my mind again and again recently is:
INTENTION
At the end of November, I had a talk with my staff about our office goals. One thing I noticed was that we weren’t being specific about what we were trying to achieve every day. For instance, what are our goals for today, and how will they affect our overall goals for the month? If we stay on track daily, we’ll stay on track for the month. To address this, we implemented a daily “intention sheet” to guide us with our metrics. The higher our metrics, the more patients we can help, and, ultimately, we get to stay in business! Becoming specific and intentional with our daily goals created a near-record month in what is traditionally a slower period for many offices.
Of course, this concept applies in other areas of life as well. Some time ago, I attended an amazing chiropractic conference where several speakers used the phrase “be where your feet are.” One speaker, in particular, shared how she isn’t at work to be away from her family or to spend time online or playing games. She is there to adjust patients and grow her practice. Similarly, when she’s at home with her kids, she’s not thinking about work or scrolling on her phone—she’s fully present with her children. And when she’s on a date with her husband, she’s not worrying about the office or glued to her phone—she’s focused on being with him. In other words, she is intentional about how she spends her time and energy, which makes her more productive and abundant.
Intention invites focus, and focus pushes out distractions. Following that conference, I bought a leather bracelet online with the phrase “Be Where Your Feet Are” engraved on it. I resolved to become more present when I’m with my wife, my kids, and at the office—especially when I’m with patients or deciding how to use my free time. I’ve noticed a significant difference in all my relationships since applying this principle.
As you set your goals and resolutions for 2025, I invite you to apply this principle of Intention and “be where your feet are” to consistently create the life and abundance you’re working toward. Thank you, Doc, for your contribution to our profession—for your professionalism, intelligence, skill, and love for the people in your community. If you have feedback or suggestions, don’t hesitate to reach out to me or the executive team. We are here to support you. I love chiropractic and look forward to connecting with you in the near future!
